Medication Reminder (MedRem) was designed and produced to assist you in taking your medications on time, every time.

Taking medication on time, every time, is of vital importance for your health, function or rehabilitation.

MedRem's design allows you to set up to five (5) custom reminders per day every day of the week.

MedRem has the flexibility for you to set up to five (5) reminders on specific days of the week.

MedRem takes the worry away from having to set and reset an alarm on your phone and trying to remember what it is for. MedRem provides the ability for you to determine exactly what you receive in an SMS to remind you what medication to take.

MedRem provides the ability for an emergency contact of yours to be contacted in case you miss a reminder.

Using MedRem is easy...

1. Set the days you want the reminders to be sent.

2. Set the time/s you want to receive the reminder(s).

3. Create the SMS message you will receive to remind you what medication to take.

4. Select Update.

Your MedRem's are now set and you will receive an SMS on the day and time you have selected with the message you created.

When you receive your MedRem and have taken your medication, simply reply SMS with the time, or open the MedRem app and hit "Acknowledge."

Our safety net is that if you have not responded in 15 minutes, you and your emergency contact will receive the same message.

The same rule applies another 15 minutes later which will be the last reminder for this time slot.

MedRem is a verified and registered service provider with NDIS. If you are an NDIS Participant, MedRem is covered by NDIS with no out of pocket expense.

What is the cost of this?

MedRem is available via subscription to all clients.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL NDIS USERS

Due to the new NDIS legislation, obtaining funding to use MedRem has changed. MedRem can come under Replacement Support in Assistive Technology, but may take up to 6 months for approval..

If you are wanting to use MedRem now, please do the following;

* Call NDIS on 1800 800 110 and state you want to use MedRem.
* You will need to advise that MedRem is provided by SpecApps.
* State you would like to use Low Cost Assistive Technology core funding. (this is for items under $1500 per year)
* Explain why using MedRem is so important for your health and well-being in taking medication on time.
* A letter of support from a GP or Support Worker may assist in approval.
* Explain the need to use MedRem now and not wait for 6 months for approval.

This change is out of our control. We will do all we can to assist and support you in whatever way possible so that you can use MedRem as quickly as possible.
